Overview
Surrounded by the profund social and political changes that took place in Barcelona between the end of Primo de Rivera’s dictatorship and the Second Republic, the eldest son of a bankrupt aristocràtic family falls into a spyral of decadence. At the same time, his younger brother fights to return to the top at any price and without any scruples.

While Barcelona is celebrating the 1929 Universal Exposition, Frederic de Lloberola (Francesc Garrido), the eldest son of a ruined aristocratic family, faces a large debt to the Baron of Falset (Pedro Casablanc). His brother, Guillem de LLoberola, (Pablo Derqui) offers him his help, as he has powerful information that could end the reputation of the rich aristocrat: he himself has starred in a "paid sexual encounter" with the Baron and his wife, Conxa (Aida Folch).

After the establishment of the Republic in 1931, the Marquis of Lloberola (Pep Cruz) died and left his two sons, Frederic (Francesc Garrido) and Guillem (Pablo Derqui), without any financial resources. While Frederic falls into misery, Guillem puts his neck to conquer Conxa, the rich widow of the baron of Falset. Maria Lluïsa (Diana Gómez), daughter of Frederic and niece of Guillem, is against the family imposition of a marriage of convenience and is committed to working to become independent.
